Leather has been conditioned with a lanolin, beeswax and avocado oil conditioner, giving it a waxy feel and a strong protective coating. Our bags begin as raw beef hides from farmers and butchers in Vermont's Champlain Valley. Hides are transformed into leather using environmentally sound processes and chestnut-based solutions by the Meyer Family in New York State, who have passed their tanning traditions down over the past 400 years.
